Essential Business Tools for a FL General Contractor – Part 3 of 3

– GOQR.me . A free QR code generator. QR codes can publicize your site, special discounts via text message or a portfolio of your best contracting work.

2. Project and Document Collaboration Online

– PBWorks .   Simple and free to use, you can upload custom pages with HTML. Their slogan is x “online team collaboration to get work done.”

– Wikispaces . Simplifying the process of making and using a wiki, Wikispaces allows anyone to create a public or private place for their content. Wikis are the original web 2.0 tools!

– Basec a mp . A web-based project management tool from from 37Signals. Organize projects, data and people (team, vendors, clients, subcontractors) with ease.

3. Website Creation

–   WordPress .   Considered to be the standard platform for new blog and website creation , it is simple and easy to use .

–   KompoZer . This software makes it easy to create HTML web pages with a “ what you see is what you get ” interface.

4. Business Reputation Management

–   Yelp . The easiest way for consumers to find, review and discuss what’s great -and not so great- in your ar ea. Proa ctive managemen t and engagement with your profile is essential to success .

– Citysearch . With reviews of just about everything, Citysearch is a great resource of information on businesses all over the United States. Like Yelp, be sure to claim, update and manage your profile.

– Technorati .   One of the world’s leadin g providers of blog information. Monitor your links and reputation through the website to increase your visibility.
